Children & Youth

Growing up here

We want children to come to know Jesus, to live for Him, and to share Him with those around them. That's what shapes all our ministries to families and children.

Kids Church

Grade R–7 sing, pray, hear a talk from the Bible, and go into small groups for discussion, prayer and a take-home activity. Where possible we follow the passage the adults are learning so families can talk about it together.

Preschool

Working through the Jesus Storybook Bible, with songs, playtime and a colouring sheet. Children are encouraged to bring their own copy.

A toddler room with a live stream so parents can watch the service while their children play, and a Baby Room in the auditorium for parents of babies under one.

Sun 10:00 · Under 3

Connect Groups

Where the Bible meets your ordinary week

Connect groups provide a relational environment for growing in your understanding of God and His Word, and in love for Him and His people. It's where you can be known and loved, pray and be prayed for.

Groups vary in shape and size and meet at different times and venues across the southern suburbs. We'd love to help you find one.

Foundations Course

New here, or new to the faith?

Our Foundations Course runs Wednesday evenings at the church, 18:30–19:30. If you'd like to know more about the foundational truths Christians believe, or you're relatively new to TCC, come along — we'd love to see you there.

There's also a prayer meeting before the 10am service each Sunday, and a week of prayer at the start of each term.

What we believe

Committed to Jesus Christ as Lord, and to the Bible as the Word of God

TCC is a constituent church of REACH SA — Reformed, Evangelical, Anglican. Autonomous, with our own constitution, in fellowship with like-minded churches. What we believe shapes how we behave, and works out in five objectives.

Magnification

Adoring, praising and thanking God in all things, especially when we gather.

Membership

Everyone finding connection, community and care within God's family.

Maturity

Knowing God deeply and making gospel-driven decisions in all of life.

Ministry

Sacrificially serving one another, formally and informally.

Mission

More people hearing the gospel for the first time, locally and globally.

Our history

From a school staff room to a nursery on Tokai Road

1983

A Sunday school starts at Kirstenhof Primary, planted from St James, Kenilworth. A parents' Bible study follows in June, and by September the first services are held in the staff room under Rev. Desmond Inglesby.

1987

Having outgrown the staff room and then the school hall, the church buys land in Raapkraal Road and begins developing plans.

1989

Before building starts, a more suitable property comes up — the old Breezeland Nursery, right on Tokai Road.

1991

After a two-year building project, the church moves into 28 Tokai Road, where it still meets today.

Before you come

Questions people ask us first

What should I wear?
Come as you are. Some people dress smartly, others casually. There's no dress code.
What happens to my kids?
At 10am everyone starts together, then children up to Grade 10 go to their age groups. The 8am and 6:30pm services have no separate teaching, but children are very welcome in them.
When should I arrive?
Parking is rarely a problem. Arrive no later than five minutes before the start so you can find a seat easily.
What do I actually do?
Watch what everyone else does. We sit for most of the service and stand to sing. The person leading will say what's happening at each point, and you won't be expected to do anything you're not comfortable with.
Can someone meet me at the door?
Yes — get in touch beforehand and we'll arrange for someone friendly to greet you.
