The congregation at Tokai Community Church

Welcome

A family-friendly, Bible-believing church in Tokai.

We meet on Sundays and through the week. You don't need to know anyone, dress a certain way, or have been to church before.

The church on Tokai Road

Sundays

Three services, every week of the year

08:00Morning service. Children are welcome to stay in with you.
10:00All ages start together, then children up to Grade 10 go to their groups. Livestreamed on YouTube.
18:30Evening service. No separate children's teaching.

A service runs 75–90 minutes. We sit in auditorium-style seating, sing with a music team leading, and about halfway through one of our pastors preaches from the Bible for around half an hour.

Families at church

Children & Youth

Every age has somewhere to belong

We want children to come to know Jesus, to live for Him, and to share Him with those around them. That's what shapes all our ministries to families.

Kids Church — Grade R–7

Singing, prayer, a talk from the Bible, then small groups for discussion and a take-home activity. Where possible we follow the passage the adults are learning so families can talk about it together.

Sun 10am

Preschool — age 3–6

Working through the Jesus Storybook Bible, with songs, playtime and a colouring sheet.

Sun 10am

Toddlers & Babies

A toddler room with a live stream so parents can watch the service while their children play, and a Baby Room in the auditorium for parents of babies under one.

Sun 10am

Teen Church — Grade 8–10

A separate time of teaching during the 10am service in term time. In the holidays they stay in the adult service.

Connect groups

Through the week

Church is more than Sunday morning

Connect Groups

Where the Bible is applied to everyday life, and where you can be known and loved, pray and be prayed for. Groups vary in shape and size and meet across the southern suburbs — we'd love to help you find one.

What we believe

What we believe shapes how we behave

TCC is a constituent church of REACH SA — Reformed, Evangelical, Anglican. Autonomous, with our own constitution, in fellowship with like-minded churches. Our convictions work out in five objectives.

Magnification

To more passionately adore, praise and thank God in all things, especially when we gather.

Membership

To see all people find connection, community and care within God's family, visible in this local church.

Maturity

To know God deeply, growing in faith, hope and love, and making gospel-driven decisions in all of life.

Ministry

To embrace a lifestyle of sacrificially serving one another.

Mission

To see more people hear the gospel for the first time, through local witness and global partnerships.

Since 1983. A Sunday school at Kirstenhof Primary grew into a congregation that outgrew a staff room and then a school hall. In 1989 the old Breezeland Nursery came up on Tokai Road; two years of building later the church moved into number 28, where it still meets.

Before you come

Questions people ask us first

What should I wear?
Come as you are. Some dress smartly, others casually. There's no dress code.
When should I arrive?
Parking is rarely a problem. Arrive no later than five minutes before the start so you can find a seat easily.
What do I actually do?
Watch what everyone else does. We sit for most of it and stand to sing. The person leading will say what's happening at each point, and you won't be expected to do anything you're not comfortable with.
Can someone meet me at the door?
Yes — get in touch beforehand and we'll arrange for someone friendly to greet you.
What if I can't get there?
The 10am service is livestreamed on YouTube, and each Sunday's sermon is posted there afterwards. Selected sermons are on our podcast — Spotify, Apple Podcasts and YouTube.
